Frequently Asked Questions

Are your services in person? Do you have a physical clinic?

Yes! Say Well Speech Therapy offers both in-person and online therapy options.
Our physical location is located at:  340 Henry Street, Brantford, ON

We provide a welcoming, neurodiversity-friendly space for children and adults.
If you prefer, sessions can also be held virtually from the comfort of your home through secure teletherapy platforms

Do I need a doctor's referral?

No referral is needed. You can contact us directly to book an assessment or consultation

Does OHIP cover your services?

No, OHIP does not cover private Speech Therapy services. However, there are funding programs for children available for low-income families that can be utilized for speech therapy services. For further details, please feel free to contact us.

Do you accept insurance?

Speech therapy is often covered under private health benefits. We provide official receipts with the S-LP registration number for reimbursement.
Please check with your insurance provider about your specific coverage.

Do you have a waitlist?

We have immediate availability for everyone. However, Saturday mornings and afterschool time slots are on high demands. Please call us or book your first visit as soon as possible to reserve a convenient time slot for therapy after completing the assessment.

Are you open late evenings and weekends?

Yes! We are open until 7:30pm during weekdays and Saturday mornings. Call us now to reserve your preferred time slots.

How long are therapy sessions?

Sessions typically last 30–60 minutes, depending on age, attention span, and therapy goals. Your SLP will recommend how long and how often sessions should occur.

What is Intensive Therapy?

Intensive therapy is when we see the client multiple times during the week. We offer discounts for intensive therapy.

Do you offer discounts?

We offer discounts for siblings who attend the same session. We also provide senior discounts, and we may be able to assist low-income families who pay out of pocket.

Do parents stay during sessions?

Yes! We encourage parent participation. Depending on your child’s comfort, you can observe, join in, or receive at-home strategies to continue progress. Parents are welcome to wait in the waiting area, but must remain in the building.

Why are CDA rates lower than SLP rates?

Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) have advanced training and education, including a master’s degree, which allows them to assess and create individualized treatment plans for your child. Our Communication Disorders Assistants (CDAs) also provide important therapy support and have long and strong clinical experience. They work under the supervision of an SLP and follow the plans created by the SLP. Because CDAs have less responsibility, their rates are lower. Both SLPs and CDAs work together to give your child the best care possible.

What areas do you treat?

Our therapy services include:

  • Speech sound/articulation delay
  • Motor Speech Disorders
  • Language delays and disorders
  • Stuttering (fluency)
  • Voice and resonance therapy
  • Social communication skills
  • AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication)
  • Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy
